Warehouse / Distribution Manager

InVue Security Products Inc. is a growing organization with the vision to be the global leader of innovative secure merchandise solutions.  Our purpose is to provide global retailers innovative security products that securely place merchandise in full view.  We are headquartered in Charlotte, NC, with sales and production sites across the globe.  We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse / Distribution Manager to oversee the operations of our warehouse located in Rancho Cucamunga, California. 

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:

 

Qualified candidate will be responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipments and overall warehouse operations of a 25K sq. ft. warehouse and supervision of 4 warehouse personnel.Warehouse facility will be a new operation to be located in the Inland Empire / Ontario, CA area.  Responsible for the start-up and effective day to day operations to ensure that customer order requirements are met and manage team and resources to meet daily productivity, quality and cost objectives.  Track, report and improve key performance indicators for area of responsibility.  Ensure documented procedures are in place and followed by department personnel.  Maintain open communication channels with manager and internal and external customers.   

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

1.  Perform and/or manage appropriate personnel / staff to ensure the timely and accurate execution of the following warehousing activities:Unloading of inbound shipments. Verification of inbound shipments for damage, identification / labeling and count. Inventory entry of product into and out of AS400 / warehouse management system. Material movement in and out of inventory locations. Ensure accuracy of inventory transaction entries and physical inventory movements. Scheduling of freight  / courier Issue BOL’s to plan, assign and direct daily and weekly shipments of customer orders. Comply with customer order requirements of on-time, on-count, quality and other special instructions.  Auditing of outbound shipments to ensure accuracy. Loading of outbound shipments

2.  Reporting performance in area of responsibility through KPI’s and track CI activities.

3.  Report any discrepancies in item masters relative to dimensions, weights, carton quantities, etc. 

4.  Responding to shipment complaints and correcting receiving / shipping processes as necessary.

5.  Maintain accurate and organized electronic and hardcopy records. 

6.  Assist with cost saving and CI ideas in operating costs and efficiencies.

7.  Standardize and document workflow processes to improve employee efficiency.

8.  Provide solutions for effective and cost efficient methods of stocking, transportation and routing of goods.

9.  Maintenance of receiving, pick, pack and shipping equipment.

10.  Training and development of personnel. 

11.  Participate in physical inventories.

12.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing; hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

13.  Keep abreast of industry and professional trends. 

14.  Maintain department in a neat and organized manner; and take care of all equipment and supplies.   

15.  Keep supervisor informed of issues that impact quality or on-time delivery to customers. 

16.  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

17.  Perform other duties as required by manager.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 Associate's Degree / Bachelor's Degree Preferred7-10 years of warehousing / distribution experience required. Oversees freight and customs experience required. 3-5 years as a manager. Knowledge and use of automated / computerized warehouse management systems. Certified / licensed forklift driver. Experience working with freight carriers and freight rates. Experience working with customs clearance.  Must be hands on to lead by example. Ability to handle multiple projects with composure to meet deadlines.  Demonstrated leader with professionalism that works well and cooperatively with others in a fast paced environment.  Self-motivated. Ability to adapt to change. Strong organization skills. Attention to detail.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate in the use of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and AS400.
