Warehouse QC / Strapper

Job Summary: Assure that our customer's direct mail related jobs, projects and programs are done right the first time and go out on schedule; focusing on quality, profitability, LEAN Manufacturing, a sense of urgency, relationships, teamwork and fun. Sharing knowledge and being available to assist anyone in any department within the San Leandro Facility. Duties & Responsibilities: Check Surplus Area Follow Documented Instructions Box, Create Label, Label and move inventory material to Receiving With Pick Ticket move material to shipping Recycle Hold – follow-up for disposition Inventory Postal Supplies Contact Postal Supply Center to re-order Trays & Sleeves – 1', 2', EMM, Tubs Sacks (white & brown) & pallets, Cages, Tray Tag Holders, Rubber Bands, String, Political Tags QC the mail that are finished and due QC the docket – due date, drop only, Post Office: Piece Weight, Tray Counts, Pieces, Cages, Pallets, Strap, Shrink Wrap if no cages are utilized, Weigh and record rate on cage/pallet tag, Bring docket to Transportation to prepare mailing statements Assist Mail Operators, Hand Assembly and other departments as needed PSI – daily at 4:30 p.m. the PSI driver arrives. Check to make sure that the proper form was used for permit, meter or stamp. Assure that the form was completed properly and includes the job #, quantity, operator signature, driver signature If the PSI Permit was used create postage request and submit to Accounting Make copies of PSI signed form QC mail that comes from Kaiser and Swatching Team. Assure that there is documentation for any permit mailings. After QC pass on to Transportation. Transfer mail into Postal Cages when necessary Back-Up to Mailing Statement Clerk Help maintain a "Tour Ready" work environment Pick up and clean up anything out of place Work with, assist and support other departments to assure proper handoffs and encourage process improvement. Attend and participate in monthly team meetings Stay current with information on updated Direct Mail & Postal requirements & regulations Assure that all necessary mail production supplies are available – report needs to team lead Assure that equipment is properly maintained and always available – report needs to team lead Communicate with Transportation Manager to assure that finish mail is mailed Material Handling – receive material, operate fork-lift to move material Share knowledge and experience with other team members daily Write, edit and train on process procedures – assure that procedures are followed Review job instructions and samples carefully and report any discrepancies – never assume Take any garbage to the recycling area Accurately record time to Prinstream using proper job and activity code Any additional duties requested by team leader Making Copies – cage/pallet tags, PSI Pick-Up Log, PSI Pick-Up Slips Maintain Binders – PSI Log, QC Log Daily - check Docket Area and if Dockets are present file. Return empty tubs to Mail Ops. When additional space is needed box oldest docket, mark dock number range on two sides of box with Black Sharpie, stack on pallet. When pallet is three layers high – shrink wrap and place pallet on rack in Mail Ops. APPLY TODAY!
