Warranty and Claims Engineer

The purpose of this position is to continually improve product performance, customer satisfaction, significantly reduce warranty costs, and identify additional application opportunities for product expansion and improvement.  Perform root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, verification, and identifying a wide range of failure mechanisms of all ITT R&CW products as required.  The initial focus will be on 4” CentriPro motors and controls including initial applications and units returned from the field, as well as field service issues related to product safety. Direct customer interface in factory schools, facility visits and field application assistance.

 

JOB DUTIES:

· Improve quality of non-conforming products by establishing failure analysis and obtaining corrective action

· Interact with various departments (Product Management, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing) to resolve/improve component issues

· Report technical information in Warranty/Claims system concerning component failures

· Implement proactive measures that will foster productivity and higher product yields while reducing economic loss

· Schedule, oversee and document product testing at the Auburn manufacturing facility

· Work closely with product engineers to provide valuable feedback on failures modes

· Assist with new product introduction based on returned product analysis

· Maintain a central database of product failures

· Provide solutions for product improvements to appropriate engineering and manufacturing personnel based on returned material

· Perform onsite root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans relating to field failures

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3 to 7 years related experience

Product knowledge – centrifugal pumps, electric motors, pump controls and accessories, motor/control test equipment

C Plot, Visual Basic or other performance analysis software, CAD proficiency is a plus.

Excel and other MS office applications
