Web Developer - ASP.NET

NATIONAL PEN is a leading global direct marketer of business-to-business promotional products.  The Company manufactures or imports business related promotional and gift products such as writing instruments, desk accessories, wearables, calendars, and drinkwear that are then customized with a customer’s name, address, logo etc., using traditional laser engraving, silk screening or its proprietary technology for high speed digital image printing.  National Pen primarily targets small businesses in the US and selected international markets and has manufacturing facilities in the US, Mexico and Ireland.  The Company also has a retail division that sells similar products into retailers with logos or licensed designs.

Position Summary:

The National Pen Company is searching for a web developer who will be responsible the maintenance of existing websites and the development of new Internet and Intranet web business applications. In addition to development responsibilities, the successful candidate for this position will be expected to provide technical and architectural recommendations for maintaining a highly available and flexible enterprise web platform. Will be expected to be a key contributor in cross functional teams that will include developers, business champions, end users, contractors. Effective communication skills will be essential to succeed in an environment where the team members and stake holders are spread across the global business operations.  

Responsibilities: Support, maintain, and resolve issues for production Internet and Intranet websites Develop and implement enhancements to our Internet and Intranet web sites Performance tuning and optimizing the web site applications to ensure maximum availability, performance, and security Interface with business customers to gather and document business and system requirements Update content under direction of business championsCreate analysis and design documents Participate in architecture design, development planning, and code reviews Design and Develop of new sites in the support of the business operations and commerceSupport team development environment, toolset recommendations, technology roadmap. Other responsibilities, as necessary

 Experience:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent3+ years of related experience with emphasis on web developmentAn advanced level of hands on experience with the .NET framework, ASP.NET, and C#, Visual Basic. User interface development experience with JavaScript, HTML and DHTML, Flash and SilverlightExperience with the Microsoft development tools. Visual Studio .NET, Expression, Visual SourceSafe, Team System. Successful implementations of technologies such as SQL server, Biztalk, Commerce server, IIS, Sharepoint, Web Services, XAML, RSS, XML, Master Pages, themes, Ajax.N-Tier application development, RAD techniques
