Sandvik Mining and Construction, the world’s leading supplier of drilling and excavation machinery, equipment and tools for mining and construction industries, is currently looking for a Welder/Fabricator in Brier Hill, PA. This position will Report to the Rebuild Manager of the facility.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

In this key role, the Welder/Fabricator will be responsible to maintain steady workflow in the Welding / Fabrication area of the Brier Hill Rebuild Shop. This person will primarily be working with large pieces of underground coal mining equipment, including continuous miners, road headers, and bolter miners. This is a rebuild environment, not manufacturing, so the person in this role may either be doing welding work with existing parts, or fabrication of new parts to fit an existing machine.

Additional Key Responsibilities Include:

• Use hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld together metal components and parts or to cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layouts, work orders, or blueprints

• Work with demanding seams and/or difficult/large work pieces, use of welding robot when necessary

• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts

• Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques

• Provide relevant feed back to Manager to enable continuous product improvement

• Adhere to all Sandvik Mining & Construction and project Safety Health and Environmental policy and procedures

YOUR PROFILE

The qualified candidate will possess relevant work experience in welding/fabrication; Welding certification a plus. Must be able to read and interpret blueprint drawings. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to work in a team environment; Possess the ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly and to lead a team in a changing environment.
