Union Shop - they are Union after the 90 day contract is up
1st shift
7:00am-3:30pm

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE JOB: Prior or current ASME certification a big plus
  Experienced TIG (GTAW) welder
  Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  A good understanding of weld symbols
  Experience welding stainless steel and nickel alloys
 

SECONDARY FUNCTION OF THE JOB:  Assist Class 05 Welders as directed and perform shop assistance tasks as directed by supervisor and required by workload

FACILITIES/MACHINES USED:  Tube to tube welder, gas shielded welding heads, wire feeders, arc welders, turn table lathes, cutting torch and crane

TOOLS USED: Machinist scale, calipers, height and depth gauges, angle and centering heads, level, hand tools

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Receives instructions from supervisor
· Selects job from work rack by due date
· Reads routing for operation instruction and checks for completion of previous operations
· Tack and/or weld operations require operator to select and adjust proper fixture or holding device as required, using machine controls and/or proper hand tools, as directed on unfamiliar work and unassisted on familiar work
· Tacks and/or welds using automatic or manual process, with part mounted to lathe or turntable, or positioned on table
· Required to determine proper tack spacing in tack operation
· Required to determine and maintain proper arc clearance and angle, power source current, gas flow, travel speeds and wire or rod requirements as necessary in all processes
· Must align heads to seam in automatic processes
· Makes fixtures as instructed
· Repairs poor fit by adding filler material as necessary
· Uses cranes or hoists as required
· Must maintain certifiable welding skills necessary to meet industry and company welding processes and procedures, as directed on unfamiliar work and unassisted on familiar work
· Inspects welds and parts as required

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:  Provides instruction to Class 05 welders as directed.  Performs general shop assistance tasks as directed by supervisor and required by workload

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:  Maintains a neat and orderly workstation at all times.  Performs all tasks in a safe manner and follows established rules of conduct
