Western Zone Business Manager - Distributor Sales

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the VP Distributor Sales, this position is responsible for management of sales activities within an assigned geographic region or for a designated group of accounts in Natural Foods in order to achieve the planned level of sales within the approved level of trade spending.

Responsibilities include:
- Travel through assigned territory to call on established and prospective customers to develop favorable business relationships, present new products and solicit orders.
- Work with the VP Distributor Sales, the assigned Marketing Director and Marketing Manager to develop sales and objectives to be met.
- Assist in developing the annual sales budget plan by forecasting sales volume for the region based upon historical sales data, new account potential and plans for new product development.
- Implement sales and marketing programs within the region.
- Evaluate the success of the programs by monitoring financial performance, case volume movement, and other performance measures and to recommend or implement changes if the top line is not being met.
- Review market analysis to determine customer needs and volume potential. Develop month or quarterly sales forecasts. Coordinate sales forecasts with operations to insure that product availability will satisfy demand.

QUALIFICIATIONS:
- BA/BS in business related field required or 15+ years directly related experience in lieu of degree.
- With degree, must have a minimum 5 years experience in sales or closely related field.
- Excellent managerial, administrative, organizational and follow-up skills required.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Skills to successfully influence customers, brokers and distributors a must.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint necessary.
