SUMMARY:

Administrates and Maintains Window’s Server Operating Environment including Exchange, SQL, and Active directory and recommends improvements and consolidations to the existing Window’s Operating Environment across the Pelican companies.  Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules, data backup, archival and disaster recovery procedures.  Implements and maintains security policies as set forth by management and provides tactical input on overall network planning and related projects. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily support and maintenance of all Windows 2000/2003 servers, maintenance of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and SQL Server.  Work with helpdesk staff in support of end user windows desktop issues.  Maintains and Administrates network systems and end-user security via AD Group Policies.  End user accounts are maintained securely across all systems including remote access. Security requirements are documented, monitored, implemented, and enforced in accordance with company security policy. Authentication, directory services, firewalls, VPN, VLANS are identified and utilized to accurately provision services to end users in accordance with access rights by job function.  Performs and documents testing and troubleshooting functions on network systems and recommends improvements.  Patch management is controlled, tested, and deployed to ensure security objectives are met without compromising compatibility and performance of existing company applications.  Maintains network accounts across the Pelican companies. Network encryption requirements and standards are established to support regulatory requirements of both corporate office and Country of domicile. Remote access is controlled through permissions and virtual private networks. Quality of passwords and periodic user updates are maintained. Configurations changes are managed and documented.  Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules, data backup, archival and disaster recovery procedures to meet management objectives.  Coordinates with resources across the various Pelican companies to meet infrastructure objectives.  Provides tactical input on overall network planning and related projects.  Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

B.S. in Information Systems or related field with five or more year’s relevant experience with networking standards, best practices, security, and optimization required.

3 or more year’s relevant experience administering Exchange, Active Directory, and SQL

MSCE 2003 with in depth knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 server, Active directory, and Microsoft Exchange.

Good working knowledge of DNS, networking and storage technologies (EMC), and Antivirus solutions.

Must be able to utilize experience, judgment, creativity, and flexibility to plan and accomplish goals.
