Location:

 

This position can be based in either Denver, CO or Alameda, CA, with plans for permanent location in Alameda within a one to two year timeframe, i.e. transfer and relocation will be required and provided, if necessary.

 

Summary:

The Product Manager will lead the business performance for products and services throughout the product lifecycle.  This position will drive product definition and roadmaps, manage the development of products, and develop the product maintenance and support requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

 Direct responsibility of the product plans, roadmaps and product release plans. Applies technical knowledge of product support/logistics disciplines and Program Management Best Practices to direct program activities.Manages P&L for assigned products to include pricing, cost management, revenue projections, IRR/NPV calculations, and profit margin targets. Works daily with executive leadership and sales organizations to drive business growth and execute the product plan. Develops new products concepts, as well as vision documents used to initiate technology development efforts.Develops and maintains product/service roadmap including specifying product value proposition, product specifications and product pricing strategy.Develops the pricing, placement and promotion strategies for each product including defining direct and channel sales strategies, product training and deployment.Manages all aspects of the product life cycle management process.Serves as single point of contact for all ongoing product decisions, insuring implementation of the decisions, consistency in communication and effective client communication strategies.Collaborates closely with all internal and external support organizations.Guides the development of tactical documentation.Drives market research to monitor competitor market awareness and attitudes; test product concepts, measure customer satisfaction.Develop competitive response and contingency plans to address market-specific needs.Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

 

Education/Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance or Business Development, or the equivalent combination of related training, proficiency and experience, MBA preferred.

 6 – 10 years of related experience in marketing, product development/management and/or financial analysis.2 – 3 years of software or data services product development experience helpful.Proven history of successfully growing products.Extensive experience with product development processes and project/program management.Demonstrated ability to create quantitative-based business analysis, and to translate this analysis into business strategies.Well-developed written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated success in working in a matrix-type organization, where a service function is provided to the benefit of multiple and diverse market facing P/L units.
