Project Engineer-Reliability

Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring the reliability of outboard engine components and systems at all phases of the process, from design to resolution and tracking of warranty issues.

 MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide root cause analysis of warranty issues, including failed component analysis, trend analysis, tracking issues and corrective actions with a gate chart.Collect data, develop test plans, perform engineering calculations with the goal of understanding component limits and/or resolving component issues.Analize durability test results and establish predictable failure rates and estimated costs using statistical (Weibull) analysis.Work with the design team and stress-strain lab to create component development plans that will predict fatigue limits and correlate FEA models with real test data.Assist in the implementation of a FRACAS system.Hold design reviews with manufacturing, assembly, vendors, etc.

 EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREDBachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.Strong interest in statistical analysis.Understanding / interest in engines a plus.Must be hands on with a good mechanical aptitude.Must be self-motivated and self-directed and possess strong organizational skills.Strong communication skills both written and orally.
