The location for this position is open, provided it resides in the Mid-West or Gulf Coast region.

 

Summary

 

Working independently from a home-based office, will be responsible for selling commercial navigation products and data services to the US Commercial Inland / Coastal workboat market. 

 

Work is performed under remote supervision and is evaluated quarterly to ensure that results are tracking towards yearly sales goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.Establishes and maintains relationships with current and potential customers to cultivate new selling opportunities. Formulates sales presentations tailored to specific customer needs.Gathers and maintains marketing intelligence to develop competitor profile.Establishes and maintains a detailed customer and prospect database to enable follow-up calls, direct mailings, and prospect calls (via Salesforce.com).Assists in developing sales and marketing pieces to promote corporate services in close cooperation with other regional sales and marketing managers, as needed.Develops and makes presentations at Jeppesen offices, trade shows, and customer’s place of business when required. Makes sales or service presentations, and assists in contract negotiation with customers.Participates in trade shows, conventions and seminars relating to the marine industry.Works closely with account management to deliver exceptional services to customers.Participates in product and sales training courses that support proactive sales initiatives.Ability to travel extensively within the US up to 60% of the time.

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Minimum of five (5) years successful selling experience with upper-end technical services, preferably in the marine market.Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible high-level customer service and/or technical, marine operations experience.Well developed verbal and written communication skills.In-depth knowledge of Marketing and Sales theory and practice, dealing with high value contracts.In-depth knowledge of navigation, weather, marine electronics and commercial workboat market. Ability to gain thorough knowledge of the capabilities of the Jeppesen products and services offered to the marine market, and associated pricing for each.Highly motivated to proactively initiate and conduct sales campaigns. Ability to make presentations to all levels of Jeppesen management and potential customers.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), as well as Salesforce.com.
