The Application Software Engineer will define and implement software projects using AMS' standards for software development and quality assurance standards.  This position will also help specify software procedures such as code review, configuration management, static and dynamic testing, bug tracking systems and more.  Suggest algorithms and test their performance as necessary

·         Software documentation to comply with FDA guidelines.

·         Application projects, including but not limited to Physician Programmer systems and subprojects for marketing and clinical trials.

·         Operating systems – Understanding of Operating Systems architecture.  Ability to learn and implement Physician Programmer systems on a new Microsoft OS (CE, embedded XP, Vista).  . 

·         New functionality - such as databases of logged data, representation and analysis of stored data on the physician programmer systems and ways to present it.*

·         Test Equipment Software - building the front end, graphical user interface for ATEs and other test equipment, implementing algorithms, etc.* 

EDUCATION

·         BA/BS in Computer Science or related field of study

 

EXPERIENCE

·         Background in Applications Software in Medical companies, an advantage. 

·         Microsoft Development studio environment.

·         Real-time or low level device driver development, a plus. 

·         Work with National Instruments products, a plus.

SKILLS

·         Knowledge in Microsoft Development studio (Visual Basic and Visual C/C++) is a must. 

·         Knowledge in Windows OS is a must. 

·         Proven knowledge in Software quality standards and FDA guidelines.
