Buyer - Manufacturing

Best NOMOS, a division of Best Medical International, Inc., has an immediate opening for a full-time Buyer/Sales Administrator for our Pittsburgh, PA office. Best NOMOS is a developer and manufacturer of radiation therapy solutions and equipment. Company offers competitive salary and company benefits.

Position Summary

Coordinate purchase of standard and non-standard materials and services from requisition review to receipt with dedication to procurement of best cost, delivery, quality and service to consistently contribute to the bottom line. Works in a team environment to provide administrative support to Sales. Trained in all areas of sales support and becomes familiar with the staff with whom s/he will be interacting at Best NOMOS and with potential and existing customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Processes purchase orders involving a wide range of materials and related purchasing methods

Prepares proposals and bids for prospects and users as requested by Sales Managers and Associates.
Provides quotes and other assistance as required for international distributors.

Coordinates and processes RFQs and RMAs.

Maintains all templates and revisions with current pricing, part numbers and specifications for multiple product proposals. Completes all sales orders and other documents as required.

Works closely with vendors to improve quality and performance and provides regular analysis to Production Manager.

Tracks and expedites orders and maintains all purchasing records.

Works closely with other departments in purchase requisition processing

Changes purchase orders relative to Engineering Change Orders requirements

Performs functions relative to locating and qualifying new suppliers for inclusion in the MRP and Quality systems.

Responsible for regular reports (expedite, status, supplier performance, etc.) to Production & Purchasing Manager.

Assists with coordination of exhibiting and attendance at major, regional, chapter and

international conventions and meetings as needed.

Maintains appropriate logs to record activity: i.e. quote and order logs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree from a business school or 4 year college or university with a minimum of 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment or equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of wide range of materials and related purchasing methods

Diversified purchasing experience in high-tech environment

Experience operating with computerized MRP/MRPII or computerized purchasing system

Experience in a regulated environment (FDA, DOD, NRC) a plus

Ability to maintain a well-organized, proficient office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

C.P.M. certification a plus
