Current applications include: Arthroscopic surgery, Spine surgery, Dermatologic surgery, Ear, nose & throat surgery (ENT), and General surgery.













We are seeking a SolidWorks mechanical design engineer for a 4-6 month assignment. The product to be designed is a complex surface, injection molded plastic exterior, with an enclosed sheet metal substructure containing electronic components.

 

In this role you will develop SolidWorks models, assemblies and detail drawings from Industrial Design concepts. These models will be used to create rapid prototypes. From evaluation of the rapid prototypes, the models and drawing will be modified to evolve the design to production level.

 



Experience:Must have experience using SolidWorks to create injection moldable parts with complex surfaces.Must have experience using Solidworks to create complex mechanical assemblies.Must have experience using SolidWorks to design sheet metal stampings.Must be an expert in the use of SolidWorks.Must have demonstrated experience working with an engineering team to define design direction.Must have demonstrated experience understanding engineering requirements and design intent.Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience is required.





Responsibilities:

· Create 3D SolidWorks models and concept layouts based on internal design criteria.

· Create detailed drawings for fabricating prototypes, production and manufacturing.

· Interact with engineering team to establish design inputs, & design feedback. Comply with existing documentation control system.



Qualifications:Must be a SolidWorks expert.Specific SolidWorks toolset to include:SurfacesSheet MetalDetail Drawings

· Well versed in interpretation and application of ASME Y 14.5-1994

· Capable of performing simple engineering calculations, (stress calculations & material strength evaluations).

· Able to affectively communicate (written & verbal) in a team environment.
