Corporate Controller

Medical Specialties Distributors, LLC with its corporate offices located in Stoughton, MA (www.msdistributors.com), is the leading Distributor of medical equipment and supplies to the alternative site healthcare industry is currently seeking an outstanding individual to provide financial and accounting support to the organization.  In this critical role you will be reporting to the CFO and be responsible for leading the corporate finance team.  The Corporate Controller must be able to provide effective leadership and coordination of the company’s accounting operations with responsibility for ensuring financial reporting in accordance with set timelines and schedules.  The Controller will play an integral role in ensuring company accounting policies & procedures conform to GAAP. 

Additional responsibilities include:

 

¨ Manage all financial/operational accounting activities including monthly closings, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, budgeting, system implementation, audits etc.

¨ Manage and supervise the work direction of the finance staff on the day-to-day maintenance of the general ledger, including billing and revenue recognition issues, inventory tracking and costing, fixed assets management, sales and use taxes filings, and other accounting related projects.

¨ Drive the development of IT strategic plans to support the financial business plan and work effectively with the Company’s IT department and the outside systems provider to ensure proper utilization of the systems functionality.

¨ Design, develop and update accounting reports to provide meaningful financial information to senior management and other departmental managers.

¨ Continuously improve effective accounting systems, controls and procedures that accurately reflect operating costs, budgets and profit determining activities.

¨ Participate in establishing financial policy and direction for the Company.  Develop short and long-range business forecasts and revise as necessary.

¨ Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and work with Departmental Managers on a monthly basis to measure and monitor results in comparison to budget.

¨ Responsible for timely and accurate submittal of all monthly financial statements and other financial reports to the Company’s Investors and Banks.

¨ Work with the Sales Department in the development of the commission program and the monthly calculation of sales commissions.

¨ Work with outside auditors to ensure all financial statements and activities are in accordance with G.A.A.P.

¨ Coordinate the annual audit and income tax filings of the Company’s financial records with the outside auditors.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

¨ CPA with at least 3 years audit experience in a national or large regional firm preferred

¨ 5+ years of prior or current experience as a Controller, including management experience.

¨ Must be organized and have the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

¨ Previous experience in an organization with multiple operating locations highly preferred.

¨ Excellent systems background required.

¨ Excellent communication and presentation skills required.

¨ Advanced PC skills with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office products.

¨ Must be proactive and self-directed with demonstrated leadership and team-based skills

¨ Must be detailed oriented with the ability to pull out and analyze the details in order to understand and grasp the broader picture.

¨ Ability to work with sensitive company information in a professional and confidential manner.
