The Design Engineer - Technology performs and manage tasks relating to new market exploration, technology research, mechanical and/or electromechanical conceptualization, design, and development of early stage products, development tools and/or systems to support business objectives.


• Invent, create, analyze, test and develop new ideas, prototypes, tools and systems to meet business objectives under time constraints.

• Development of Intellectual Property documents and deliverables including patent proposals, generation of innovative designs and embodiments, and communication of those ideas through hard/softcopy mediums (e.g. sketching, 2D/3D CAD).

Good hand-prototyping skills typically required for consumer products development.
• Creative talent with the ability to generate multiple embodiments of new product concepts.
• Product design and development of mechanical or electromechanical devices with human factors experience.
• Experience in the invention and patent process with excellent report writing and drawing skills.
• Effective teaming skills with the ability to also function solely and unsupervised at times.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or equivalent.


Desirable: 3 years+ in a technology or product development role.
