Director, Commodity Management
Under broad guidance from the Vice President, Supply Line Management, provides strategic leadership and directs the sourcing/procurement activities for assigned commodities across multiple CRMD sit locations (i.e., Sylmar, Scottsdale, Sunnyvale and Veddesta) in support of department objectives for quality, cost delivery, and technology. Develops long-term commodity strategies aligned with site-specific and cross Divisional business strategies in concert with other members of the CRMD senior leadership team, effectively and efficiently managing the team, and building strong strategic client/partner and supplier relationships. Assumes a total business leadership role employing strategic supply management practices while acting as an overall business leader for the organization. Develops and maintains a qualified supplier base. Builds, develops, and leads a team of procurement professionals to enable best value sourcing of goods and services. Collaborates effectively with key stakeholders clients and suppliers to develop sourcing strategies that are aligned with CRMD business strategies, identifying and prioritizing opportunities, efficiently implement initiatives using best practice tools and execute processes.Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically a minimum of ten plus years of progressively more responsible experience in a purchasing/commodities management role or related function. A minimum of four plus years of demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level is typical. Requires highly developed leadership skills/experience sufficient to assume the responsibilities of this management position. Must be skilled at delegation, follow-up, database management tools, document control procedures, and team building. Must have a comprehensive ability to negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Evaluation skills, originality and/or ingenuity also required, as is cross-disciplinary and in-depth knowledge and experience applying advanced purchasing, commodity management, just-in-time procurement concepts and practices. Must also have experience applying the advanced concepts and practices of a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, plus an advanced working knowledge of frequently used personal computer programs and applications, such as, Microsoft Office, MRP and related inventory management programs. Comprehensive verbal and written analytical/problem solving, communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to organize and prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines. Desired Requirements: An advanced credential in a relevant discipline/concentration such as Business Administration. Professional certification or designation.
