Director, Dental Research

Job Summary ¡V The Director of Dental Research is responsible for managing and conducting activities related to research in support of Zimmer Dentals new and existing products.  The Director of Dental Research supervises the Clinical Affairs, Medical Writer and Scientific Research individuals with the research department. The incumbent is responsible for creating and executing the research needs and strategy for the organization as well as maintaining the department¡¦s budget.General Functions ¡V Manages reports to complete studies in support of Zimmer Dental products. The manager ensures that all protocols and studies comply with company procedures, local, state, or GCP, FDA, ICH ADA and country and other pertinent guidelines and regulations.  This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADAExpected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) ¡V „X Managing and coordinating research studies including; bench top, animal and clinical studies.  „X Thorough working knowledge of Clinical Research, Regulatory and compliance policies. „X Technical problem solving - The jobholder is required to gather relevant, factual information and data in order to solve problems.  They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and applying solutions from acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. „X Strong strategic decision making skills „X Strong written and verbal communication skills „X Effective management of budgets Education Requirements ¡V Bachelor¡¦s degree (B.S.) in health, life sciences, or engineering.  DDS and/or PhD preferred. Skill Requirements ¡V „X Minimum of seven years research experience in regulated studies of medical devices. „X Experience in supervision of research and or professional staff.  „X Research / Technical publication and /or technical writing experience preferred.  Licenses/Certifications ¡V None requiredTravel Requirements ¡V Approximately 30% travel is required Education: BachelorsJob Level: 6 - 7 yearsPercent Travel: 21-30%
