About Natus Medical Incorporated: Natus is a leading provider of healthcare products used for screening, detection, treatment, monitoring and tracking of common medical ailments such as hearing impairment, neurological dysfunction, epilepsy, sleep disorders, newborn jaundice and newborn metabolic testing.
SUMMARY:
The Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller ensures that the financial reporting of the company is compliant with GAAP and that appropriate procedures are established to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are operating effectively. This is a corporate level position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller oversees the financial reporting process of the Company and oversees the activities of the accounting departments of the worldwide organization to ensure uniform application of accounting principles. The Company’s domestic controller and international controllers report to the Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller.
The Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller will:
· Develop uniform corporate accounting policies and procedures relating to financial reporting and disclosure controls;
· Research and document the impact of technical accounting issues, including new accounting pronouncements;
· Prepare the monthly consolidated reporting package including the financial statements of the Company and its subsidiaries;
· Assemble and review all supporting schedules for the financial statements, including (i) the summarization of the financial results and condition of all subsidiaries, (ii) related SFAS 52 foreign currency translation calculations; (iii) elimination entries in consolidation, and (iv) other analyses, as needed, to properly support the financial statements;
· Prepare audit committee reports, summarizing: (i) all material and/or unusual transactions for the quarter, (ii) analysis of significant accruals and reserves, and (iii) analysis of trends or departures from expectations;
· Lead the integration of the finance function of acquired companies including evaluation of accounting policies, procedures, and staffing, and the reporting of their financial results; and
· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.Supervisory responsibilities
Manage the domestic controller and international subsidiary controllers. Coordinate relationships with outside third-party partners as needed.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· CPA certification, preferably Big 4 experience;
· Recent responsibility as the Corporate Controller or Director of Accounting for a publicly traded company, preferably a manufacturing company operating in an ERP environment;
· Signatory responsibility for SEC reporting as “Principle Financial and Accounting Officer” desirable;
· Direct responsibility for drafting disclosures pursuant to the Securities Exchange Acts of 1933 and 1934 (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8‑K, etc.);
· Advanced proficiency in the application of the provisions of SFAS 52, Foreign Currency Translation; SFAS 123R, Share Based Payment; SFAS 133, Accounting for Derivative Instruments and Hedging Activities, and SOP 97-02, Software Revenue Recognition;
· Experience in merger and acquisition financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration of the accounting function of acquired companies;
· High level of financial and analytical skills and an extensive knowledge of financial policies;
· Significant experience in month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
· Proven leadership skills.Education, Certifications
BA/BS from four-year college or university. Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and draft narrative explaining same. Ability to effectively present information to management.Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret and/or generate a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other Skills
Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative with broadly defined guidelines and complex procedures requiring evaluation of identifiable factors while working with a minimum of supervision.
