Opportunity

Build a top-notch Eastern U.S. medical device sales force. Our young Baltimore-area company is marketing a Medicare-reimbursed osteoarthritis solution to physicians. The product has a great start: since its introduction in 2003, 4,000+ doctors have prescribed our device for 40,000+ patients. You can learn – from the inside-out–a proven sales management system that was successful in growing a medical device sales force from 20 people to 300 people in just 10 years. This integrated sales management system is comprehensive, including recruiting, training, tracking, managing and compensating. With ArthroWave Medical Technologies LLC, you can implement this sales management system with an employee-based sales force marketing the first non-drug, non-invasive knee osteoarthritis solution, the BioniCare Knee Device. Scientific medical studies in 88 clinical settings involving more than 1,200 patients with findings published in five leading peer-reviewed medical journals have established a comprehensive and convincing base of data of the BioniCare Device's benefits for knee osteoarthritis.

 

Responsibilities

·     Meet or exceed the company’s sales forecast in every quarter of the year

·     Learn, implement and improve the company’s sales management system throughout the employee-based sales force

·    Lead the sales department by clearly communicating the company’s business strategies and objectives in a professional manner designed to direct and motivate attitudes and behavior

·     Develop a highly effective field management team by establishing a thorough understanding, appreciation and implementation of the company’s sales management system

·    Develop a highly effective force of Sales Representatives with low turnover through a combination of superior training, mentoring, performance development, review, compensation and career paths

·     Maintain a positive, cooperative and productive relationship with partner companies selling our products through distribution agreements

·     Analyze sales and operations data to monitor sales progress and improved sales force effectiveness/efficiency, with regular executive management reviews

·     Work closely with Marketing on sales force expansion and deployment to maximize geographical coverage, market penetration and business development

·     Develop departmental plans and objectives based on corporate goals, and oversee their implementation, monitoring and evaluation

·    Help the company be market-driven by being the organization’s eyes and ears in the marketplace, listening to our customers and bringing that information to corporate headquarters

·     Contribute to the successful launch of new products by providing input to product design criteria, and focusing on effect sales launch of the products

·     Work with Medical Affairs to establish and foster strong external relationships with thought-leading physicians

·     Create effective synergies between the field sales force and Patient Services, Marketing and other company departments

 

Qualifications

Experience

·    Progressive track record of sales success with significant demonstrated leadership of sales organizations, leading to managerial roles in various aspects of medical product sales, marketing and/or sales operations

·     Minimum of five years sales, sales management and marketing experience in the medical marketplace; three years related direct management experience effectively leading an accomplished group of sales professionals in a competitive marketplace

·     Building a sale force by identifying, recruiting, training and managing top sales talent

·     Succeeding within a start-up environment to maximize resources in the achievement of sales forecast

·     Selling electrical stimulation products to physicians is highly desirable

·     Knowledge of musculo-skeletal anatomy and physiology, arthritis and other diseases of the joints, and the physician specialties serving patients with these conditions: orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, internists and others

·     Strong strategic perspective to drive continuous productivity improvements

·     Excellent written and oral communication, strong stage presence, and overall organizational influence to drive sales results

·     Ability to work effectively with senior management, functional leaders within the company, key customers and the sales force.

·     Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, and financial analysis skills

Education

·     Bachelor degree in business, marketing or life science. An MBA, other advanced degree or substantial experience would be preferred.

Compensation
