Electrical Controls Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Participate in new product development of future Linatron M machines and sustaining engineering. Work with engineering and manufacturing in support of the design, build and manufacturing of new products. Responsible for providing engineering support and direction for system assemblies, from the concept and development phase through regular production. Provide documentation support to suppliers and to assembly technicians.1. Oversee that new and existing designs follow the engineering development guidelines for Security and Inspection Products (SIP) processes.2. Participate in the definition of requirements and specifications for new designs. Participate in the design review process.3. Participate in the development of software application for the control and user interface of Linatron M products.4. Develop and implement test plans for the verification of new designs.5. Work with technician in the implementation of test plans.6. Identify and champion cost reduction and reliability improvement opportunities.7. Provide guidance and support to other departments through the product development phases.8. Work with field service in the resolution of issues impacting machines in the field.9. Support regulatory requirements.10. Participate in ECO process.11. Provide simulation modeling of electrical systems using common simulation tools such as SPICE.Participate in the development of new products and support of existing products.QualificationsBSEE with 3 years experience with analog/digital circuit design. Working knowledge of C/C++, Visual Basic, PLC and control system experience is a plus. Experience with microprocessor controlled applications is highly desirable.Ability to use OrCAD or P-CAD and SPICE.
