NxStage Medical is a medical device company in Lawrence, MA that develops, manufactures and markets innovative systems for the treatment of end-stage renal disease and acute kidney failure. NxStage’s primary product, the NxStage System One, is a small, portable, easy-to-use hemodialysis system designed to provide physicians and patients improved flexibility in how hemodialysis therapy is prescribed and delivered. Given its design, the System One is particularly well-suited for home hemodialysis and more frequent, or “daily” dialysis, which clinical literature suggests provides patients better clinical outcomes and improved quality of life. The System One is specifically cleared by the US FDA for home hemodialysis as well as hospital and clinical-based dialysis. Summary: Support the Development and sustaining Engineering activities related to NxStages embedded electro-mechanical devices.


Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with circuit cards for NxStage products.


Work closely with software engineers to integrate hardware and software systems.


Maintain specification documents to allow vendors to develop and produce devices for NxStage.


Review, approve, and process Electronics Alternates requests from Contract Manufacturers and internal customers.


Assist in debugging existing designs and developing reliability improvements to existing design.


Support document effort to meet Design Control.


Work with vendors to ensure that NxStage products are manufactured to specifications.


Aid in the development of, and maintain automated and semi-automated assembly and test equipment.


Requirements:


BS in Electrical Engineering or 5-10 years related experience required.
Embedded systems development is preferred.
PCB schematic capture and layout program knowledge (PADS or similar) required.
Medical device or other safety critical device development is preferred.
Experience with FPGAs and /or DSP development is preferred.
Analog experience a plus.
Reliability design experience a plus.
