Verathon has an exciting opportunity in our New Product Development group for an Electrical Engineer. This position will be responsible for critical hardware & system development in support of our latest medical devices and products. This Electrical Engineer is expected to work with the team to provide technical acumen and development for a variety of technologies.

 

This entry level developer will be responsible for test and process development, product verification, transition of new product to production, and sustaining engineering. This position provides a pathway to product and system development. A commitment to program goals and professional demeanor are essential.

 

Our New Product Development group is dynamic and provides a broad range of opportunities to work with a variety of technologies. Prototyping is a core component of our development process.

 



Principal Responsibilities:

 

· Planning, designing, prototyping, testing and qualification of electronic designs for high-reliability and high-performance electronic medical devices.

· Perform verification testing to test plans

· Develop custom test solutions, including procedures, processes, and fixtures

· Design of custom mixed signal circuits (schematic capture & simulation) including embedded controllers, FPGAs and DSPs.

· Develop solutions that incorporate Design for Test & Design for Manufacture (DFT/DFM) concepts.

· Key interface to manufacturing (internal and external)

· Complete design documentation, including BOM’s and system specifications.

· Plan and/or participate in design reviews.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

· BSEE or MSEE (ABET Accredited) required.

· 0-4 years of relevant experience

· Familiarity with oscilloscopes, DVMs, spectrum analyzers, and other common electronic instruments.

· Hands on lab experience including soldering, debug, product test, and verification preferred.

· Familiar with MS Office, MatLab, Schematic Capture (OrCad or equivalent).

· Detail oriented, methodical, well organized, and interested in the latest technology.

· Knowledge of FDA, IEC, and ISO regulations and guidelines preferred.

· Results oriented.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong commitment to meeting customer needs.

· Good “team player”, strong interpersonal skills.

· "Self starter", highly motivated.

· Able to make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques.

· Authorized to work in the United States.
