SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

(Electrical Product Development)

 

 

Medical Solutions, Inc. (MSI), the Medical Device innovator of patient fluid warming and delivery systems, has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer at the Corporate Headquarters, located in Chantilly, Virginia.  The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for full life-cycle development of Class I and II medical devices designed to improve patient comfort, safety, and health.

 

MSI is seeking an experienced senior electrical engineer to partner with other engineering professionals on the R&D Team to initiate, design, develop and enhance the electrical systems and software of our product line. This position will provide the right candidate a challenging product development career opportunity along with the satisfaction of being able to make a difference in patients’ lives.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Electrical design and programming development of durable and disposable medical devices from concept to feasibility and prototype modeling, through validations with accountability for sustained manufacturing launch.

 Research and develop new concepts for IP and/or saleable medical devices.

 Validate final design(s) meet user needs and are compliant with FDA, MET (UL) and/or other regulatory bodies.

 Prepare documentation for MET and FDA design control.

 Prepare product build specifications to include Drawings, BOM’s, Manuals, and Process-Quality-Customer Service documents.

 Determine timelines, resources, and budgets for completion of assigned projects.

 Conduct in-house training and mentor junior members of the Engineering Staff.

 Effectively communicate status of assigned projects and report progress to the Director of Research and Development and the Executive Management team.

 Provide continuous sales, manufacturing, and customer support service.

 Support manufacturing partners and outside vendors by providing process improvement strategies and tactics.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:

 5 years minimum of relevant experience in medical device, consumer product, or manufacturing/test equipment design industries.Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required. MSEE or MBA degree is a definite plus.Electrical design experience at circuit and systems levels with a proven history of product development through deliverable.Programming experience with PLC’s, Visual Basic, C+, or other structured machine code.Practical understanding of standard manufacturing practices within a medical device or FDA/ISO regulated industry.Technical knowledge and hands on practice in UL, MET, and/or CE certifications.Demonstrable experience developing strategies, milestones, timelines, and leading cross functional teams to successful completion of engineered projects.Ability to clearly communicate, whether verbally or in writing, to all internal and external process partners.
