Employee Marketing Communications Specialist

Align Technology, Inc. is a medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of Invisalign®, the world’s leading invisible orthodontic product.  The Employee Marketing Communications Specialist will work closely with the Senior Manager, Global Employee Communications to facilitate strategic multi-faceted employee communications and marketing programs designed to champion Align’s employer brand through active engagement of our worldwide employees. This individual will also oversee and coordinate Align’s community relations and charitable giving programs and provide internal communications support on a wide-range of writing projects (i.e. newsletter articles, organizational announcements, employee profiles, intranet website content, memos and Q&As). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:• Plan and execute yearly calendar of employee events, including monthly AWE events, corporate events (holiday party, summer picnic) and special project events. Includes planning, budgeting, facilitation of team meetings; and development of promotional materials.
• Provide support with quarterly All-Hands Meetings; manage logistics (raffles, prizes, catering) for these meetings.
• Plan and execute community involvement/charity events.
• Assist with the development (strategy & creative) of company-wide communications campaigns/programs to help drive consistent employee messaging that will promote the achievement of business goals and employee engagement while meeting high standards.
• Writes, edits and proof-reads original correspondence, along with other employee communication deliverables, including but not limited to organizational announcements, news stories for Straight Talk newsletter, and other HR-related communications prior to dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, appropriateness and a “corporate voice”.
• Liaise with regional HR partners to coordinate, align messages and share best practices in employee communications.
• Work with external suppliers on artwork, event planning, technology as required.
• Create and support posting of content for Align Central intranet.
• Monitor Employee Communications and ASKEMC email boxes and assist with responses as necessary.
• Manage administrative projects (i.e. purchase orders, requisitions, etc.) for employee communication projects.
• Prepare and maintain Employee Communication activity calendar on Align Central.
• Build and foster collaborative relationships with other departments to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives to identify opportunities to develop communication materials and programs.
• Manage various monthly employee discount programs.
• Establish processes and tools to efficiently gather, document and analyze the effectiveness of employee communications through measurement tools. Survey employees regularly to identify interests and needs for events.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Community Relations Activities• Assist the Senior Manager, Global Employee Communications to develop and implement a corporate-wide charitable contributions program.
• Build and run a Community Relations Committee.
• Collaborate with community organizations to enhance our community relation activities and strengthen our visibility in the community.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key community leaders and partners. Education and Experience:• Bachelors degree in Communications, Human Resources, Marketing or related discipline
• Demonstrated writing/editing experience preferred
• 1-2 years’ progressive communications experience preferred
• Strong writing, editing, grammar, public presentation and project management skills.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Software ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop (or similar design software) and/or HTML web page design preferred. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, proactive, flexible, collaborative, a good communicator with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills, and will possess the ability to excel in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Ability to work in a team environment providing excellent customer service to internal customers. A desire to explore new opportunities and have fun in the process.
