For more information, please visit www.flextronics.com Purpose: The Engineering Manager will be a major contributor to operations projects reporting directly to the department VP.  Responsible for superior technical systems and leadership of operations related projects ranging from product improvements, cell improvements, automation & scale up, and large line or plant transfers.  This is a working manager's position where at least 75% of the managers time is project focused.  Principle Accountabilities/Duties: Manage manufacturing engineers, project engineers and related technical support personnel who will set individual goals and review individual performance. Assist program management with resource allocation, ensuring the proper design and project engineering resources are assigned to programs. Ensure that team members are fully utilized by reviewing hours and holding individuals accountable for project hours. Responsible for defining, training, measuring and implementing world class engineering standards in regulated environment. Communicate with customer as the technical interface Work with Management to ensure teams are properly staffed with manufacturing/project engineers Assist program management with resource planning and project status updates. Develop standardized methods to scope, budget, manage, and execute complex engineering activities cross geographies Knowledge leader in product development, process development and process validation. Provide technical oversight and leadership to Designers, Engineers, Lab Techs, Lab Contractors Required Skills: Knowledge of engineering design principles with particular emphasis on latter phase validation and process stabilization.  Understanding of medical design procedures with respect to design controls and process validation, excellent organizational skills.  Understanding of DOE, design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis methods, and lean manufacturing.  Familiar with manufacturing processes common to the medical device industry in manual, semi auto, and automated environments.  Specification, protocol & report requirements and the ability to author.  Flextronics is an equal opportunity employerClick here to apply for this job http://flextronics.ats.hrsmart.com/cgi-bin/pm/click.cgi?job_id=9169&site_id=123
