Engineering Manager-Plastic/Injection Molding OR Extrusion Experience

World class company and a leading supplier to medical device and pharma companies is seeking an Engineering Manager who will lead and manage the Process Engineering, Facilities Engineering / Maintenance activities and engineering responsibilities within a manufacturing site. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following:· Proactive in reducing cost, improving safety, quality and delivery· Utilizes Six Sigma methods to reduce process variation and reduce cost· Identify, research and implement changes to manufacturing processes to meet objectives· Understand and abide by all Safety and Environmental policies and requirements in the performance of job activities· Drive capital spending and cost reduction efforts using sound engineering· Utilize project management skills to define, plan, track, document and bring projects to successful conclusion on time· Source, design and fabricate new equipment as needed· Establishes manufacturing methods and practices. Designs tooling and fixtures needed. · Strategic and tactical management of new and ongoing projects· Plant and Line layout using AutoCAD· Troubleshoot and refine processes· Demonstrated problem solving skills· Lead product, process and equipment Validations· Leads or participates in teams and coordinates activities with other departments to achieve the plant and individual goals· Employ Statistical Process Control techniques, design of experiments (DOE) and root cause analysis for process improvement· Maintain, preserve and upgrade the facility and assets Qualified candidates will possess a BS in Engineering with an advanced degree perferred; possess engineering management or supervisory experience in manufacturing (the position will have 2 direct reports) and be Six Sigma certified Green Belt or willing to embrace Six Sigma and Green Belt certification.  Injection molding and extrusion experience desired. The Engineering Manager will have the ability to assure equipment, processes and employees are safe; have demonstrated ability to work in an ISO organization; experience in capital projects varying in size and scope; be proficient in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organization and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and a team player attitude is required.  Must be capable of producing process and assembly equipment and competent to manipulate same to provide robust capability; have experience in the design and use MOC, IPs, OPs and QPs; thorough knowledge of PLCs and related equipment controls desired; and experience in Facilities Engineering and Maintenance. Occasional travel is required.
