Facilities Technician

SUMMARY
Performs all necessary duties to ensure the maintenance of Alphatec’s facilities.
Assists in the execution of the manufacturing support equipment maintenance program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain, repair and troubleshoot equipment that supports manufacturing operations as well as equipment and systems that support the facility.
• Establish, schedule and perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks and Procedures.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts.
• Support equipment installations and moves.
• Perform general facility maintenance and installations such as:
o Minor building and hardware repairs
o Plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting
o Furniture assembly and relocation as the need arises.
• Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, quality programs safety and environmental standards.
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.
• When necessary work overtime or a split shift to support the 2nd shift.
• Providing on call emergency off-hour and weekend support for emergency repairs and troubleshooting.
• Assist with overseeing contractors involved in construction/renovation projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be organized, self-motivated, detailed oriented, able to prioritize duties, handle multiple tasks and possess the ability to work independently as well as with other team members
• Have basic hand tools required to perform the work assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 5 years experience in Facilities Maintenance or the construction trades.
• Ability to read, and interpret drawings, work requests, procedures and legal documents.
• Ability to follow work instructions to implement GMP/ISO 9000 systems.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma. College coursework is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Experience in dealing with vendors and contractors a plus.
• Computer literate and experienced with MS Office software. Experience with CMMS is a plus.
