Field Services Engineer Mammography
Job Summary:
The Regional Mammography Engineer installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and verifies performance of mammographic imaging equipment, independent of technical supervision. The individual should be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of duties. The Regional Mammography Engineer serves as an advisor to administrative, medical, and clinical staff in the safe use and proper operation of mammographic imaging equipment and in developing specifications for and selection of new items of clinical equipment. This individual will support equipment at Client's accounts in the Michigan Region. Responsibilities:
1. Performs scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on medical devices using established guidelines from the manufacturer and/or other policies and procedures as applicable. Service may also include installation and calibration at Client's accounts in the Michigan Region.
2. Performs Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical imaging devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, and loaner equipment in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory.
3. Performs troubleshooting, service, and repairs of mammographic and other medical imaging equipment, advises users of equipment status.
4. Responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
5. Maintains productivity levels consistent with established guidelines.
6. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
7. Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.
8. Interacts with clinical staff making recommendations related to equipment purchases, equipment disposition, service contracts, training and education, repairs, and service history.
9. Responsible for keeping supervisor informed of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, and any customer concerns.
10. Works with, and directs the activities of, contractors, vendors, and outside service technicians, to ensure the appropriate delivery of services.
11. Maintains medical imaging expertise through ongoing training and education.
12. Adheres to all budgetary guidelines and fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent military training and experience.
1. 5+ years progressive, experience in a technical environment, healthcare preferred. Thorough understanding and working knowledge of State of Michigan requirements and MDPH guidleines for mammographic systems.
2. Significant OEM and Vendor training on Mammographic systems in a clinical environment is preferred.
3. Vehicle operator's license with appropriate insurance coverage required.
4. Considerable knowledge of electronics and electricity, including solid state technology, and both linear and digital integrated circuit operation.
5. Considerable knowledge of electronics and electricity.
6. Considerable knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety standards and performance requirements relating to biomedical instrumentation.
7. Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
8. Working knowledge of the latest and most advanced troubleshooting, calibration, and repair techniques.
9. Working knowledge of the operation, underlying physiological principles, and safe and proper use of patient-care equipment.
10. Knowledge of the organization and operation of hospitals.
11. Knowledge of computers and databases.
12. Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, specifications, and illustrative drawings.
13. Ability to work in advanced technical situations.
14. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
15. Ability to mentor and train clinical engineering staff.
16. Exhibits excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
