Field Support Engineer

A position of Field Support Engineer is part of the Life Sciences Service Team. Under limited supervision, provides technical support for AP end customers and distributors.

Perform complex field service activities with up to 75% time on the road. Analyze, resolve and document technical / logistical issues encountered in field ensuring maximum customer satisfaction. Create and maintain service calls records. Maintain Service Knowledge Database, Originate spare parts Sales Orders Requests and associated RMAs. Prepare required activity reports.

 

When working from the office, expected to:

 

· Develop Service technical documentation

· Provide assistance to the Helpdesk TSE handling hotline calls (phone & e-mail)

· Provide assistance for other, traveling FSEs.

· Provide technical training for distributors and end users

· Additional tasks as defined by Department Manager

 

Job Requirements:

· A four year engineering, EE/ME degree or equivalent experience

· Prior experience in Field Service environments

· In depth knowledge of complex electro-mechanical device diagnosis & repairs

· Working knowledge of DOS / Windows and Linux OS

· Very good understanding of computer hardware / networking

Proficiency with MS Office software tools

Position requires limited weekend and holiday coverage.
