IXT Manufacturing Manager
Primary function: To plan, organize, manage and control the manufacturing function of high quality products within acceptable limits of timeliness, direct cost, operating overhead, inventory and fixed assets. Duties: 1. Directs the manufacture, test and delivery of division products consistent with overall division objectives. 2. Establishes short term and long term requirements of manufacturing for space, facilities, equipment and manpower, and assures that these requirements are met. 3. Prepares annual operating plans and the development of short and long range plans as required. 4. Provides for the accurate preparation and adherence to forecasts and master schedules for production and inventory. 5. Directs through department managers such functions as material management, manufacturing engineering, production and test. 6. Provides for the care, custody and control of all assigned company assets including inventory, capital equipment, tooling, and buildings. 7. Exercises responsibility for the preparation of manufacturing labor cost estimates used in pricing products and bidding for contracts. 8. Reviews, approves and consolidates expense and capital equipment budgets of department units and manages for effective expense control. 9. Assumes overall responsibility for proper equipment maintenance and good housekeeping practices. 10. Exercises responsibility for training, developing and motivating supervised employees. 11. Assumes personnel responsibilities such as hires, job assignments, termination recommendations, transfers, promotions, salary actions and performance reviews. 12. Implements the company's affirmative action plan as it applies to the function supervised. Monitors conduct and relationships among the employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments. 13. Assures that each employee is formally trained in safety, which includes knowledge of hazards and protective measures required to prevent injury. 14. Assists department supervisors in resolving problems which may affect department's performance and reports to management the actions taken to resolve such problems. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position requirements: Specific training, skills and experience needed to perform the job typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, electronics, i. E. Or related technical field as required or equivalent experience. Requires a minimum of ten (10) years experience, some of which is in a high technology organization. At least five (5) years of experience in more responsible supervisory and management positions.
