Manager, Server Solutions & Data Center Operations

This leadership position is responsible for successfully leading Server, Storage and Datacenter functions in IT Shared Services towards enterprise wide standards and adoption. This management position requires a strong hands-on manager with experience in developing scalable server, storage and data center solutions and operational services. Responsibilities: Planning, coordination and management of Server, Storage and Datacenter operational functions to deliver greatest value to the organization. Lead consultation with application development teams regarding technical and implementation approach in adherence to enterprise infrastructure technology build standards and operational lifecycle best practices. Actively manage and ensure delivery of SLAs. Drive metrics and fact based decisions. Develops and manages continuous process improvement, automation and enterprise build standards. Lead requirements gathering, technical design, technology selection, pilots and full implementation roll-out. Manage adherence to audit or regulatory requirements. Managed all aspect of server, storage and data center operations towards enterprise wide scalability, performance, stability and supportability. Manage technical support staff in a 365x24x7 environment. Manages budget for approved projects and assist as directed in budgetary planning for department. Lead technical gap analysis and integration with new business segments and acquisitions for related functions. Human Resource management including hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance assessment, and retention of staff. Qualifications: BS required, MBA or MS preferred Combination of 8+ years experience as a manager over of Distributed Servers (Unix, Windows), Storage and Data Center engineering and operations functions. Demonstrated management experience across multiple geographic locations and/or highly matrixed environment. Demonstrated working knowledge of distributed Server OS and HW Platforms (e.g., Windows, Sun Solaris, HP UX, AIX, Linux), distributed Server Virtualization technologies (e.g., VM Ware, LPARs, VPARSs), Storage (e.g., Net App, EMC, Hitachi) and Back-Up & Tape technologies. Demonstrated management experience with core data center functions (e.g., rack/cabling, power/heating/cooling capacity planning, physical security) Experience managing budgeting, forecasting and technology investment business cases. Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA regulations, SOX, HIPPA or other regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of application development life cycle phases Excellent oral and written communication skills. Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization. Proven change agent.
