Manager of Financial Inventory

Henry Schein, Inc. is the largest distributor of healthcare products to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets. Customers include dental practices and laboratories, physician practices, and veterinary clinics, as well as government and other institutions.

Our Financial Inventory department has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Financial Inventory to join our staff in our Melville corporate headquarters.

In this role you will:
Manage and review the work of Financial Inventory Analysts and provides direction on their respective projects.

Assist in organizing, prioritizing, and assigning to staff department’s overall goals and objectives.

Provide leadership and oversight to department to ensure set goals are achieved.

Review existing policies, procedures and systems effecting inventory and make recommendations to strengthen controls, increase efficiencies, and enhance consistency.

Coordinate periodic inventory reconciliations and financial closings to ensure that division gross profit is accurately reflected in the financial statements and that general ledger inventory is reconciled to the perpetual inventory with immaterial unexplained differences.

Assist with the development of tools to monitor inventory accuracy and determine that the internal control structure is working properly.



Requirements
Qualified individuals should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, accounting, Business Management, or the equivalent with 5-7 years inventory accounting, accounting or systems analysis experience in a multi-warehouse distribution environment, reviewing financial systems, writing policies and procedures, and performing general accounting functions, or the equivalent required. Two years in a supervisory or equivalent capacity also required.


-Strong leadership, analytical, communication (especially writing), and organizational skills.

-Financial auditing skills.

-Ability to work independently.

-Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, AS400 report mining tools (Monarch).
