Job Description Marketing Manager- Clinical/ Toxicology This position will provide leadership for LC/MS Clinical Diagnostics marketing functions related to specific product lines. Manages the activities of a product-specific team and provides supervision for the team members. Manages all product marketing functions including voice of customer research, new product specification, product launch, pricing and on-going product support. Works closely with the other Division marketing managers, as appropriate, to ensure alignment of team activities with Division priorities.  Strives for continuous improvement in team practices.   Essential Functions: § Responsible for the successful product marketing of the products supported by the team.  This involves developing pricing for the products, working with the sales organizations to provide training and support.  Works closely with the Division marketing communications group on collateral materials including brochures, mailers, advertisements and trade shows. § Responsible for managing the development of new product ideas related to the team specific product areas, which are in support of the Division strategies.  Responsible for alignment of the team resources with project priorities as defined by the Division/Group leadership team.  § Responsible for the direct supervision of the product marketing members.  This includes setting clear objectives and responsibilities for each team member and reviewing the results on a regular basis. Responsible for successful recruitment of team members as needed.  Works with each team member to develop career objectives and action plans to help meet these objectives. § Maintains and updates competitive / geographical product performance analysis and SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) tables for the products supported by the team.  Participate in quarterly consolidation / review of this information.  § Maintain product life time charts, updated sales gap analysis, and product development pipeline chart for team and participates in quarterly site reviews of these tools with the other product team leaders and the product line vice president, site management and representatives from operations, customer support, sales and finance. § Participates in budgeting for team expenses as part of the generation of the annual operating plan. Supervisory Responsibility: Direct supervision of marketing  applications  and product management focused team members. Travel requirement:   Expected to be in range of 25%, domestic and international.  Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:Educational Qualifications:  Minimum bachelor’s degree in physical science, chemistry or engineering discipline preferred.   Experience/Skills Qualifications:  5 years of relevant business experience.  The ideal candidate will have significant external and internal experience. External (customer facing) experience within a manufacturing or distribution business for laboratory analysis equipment; comfort in external environments Internal (project management, preferably multi-project management) experience in capital goods manufacturing company; effectiveness in internal environments Financial understanding sufficient to evaluate cost accounting and return implications for potential projects. Technology fluency to understand and communicate to the team the Division wide technical goals and product development activities High energy level with ability to take initiative. Proven reasoning abilities and sound judgment; ability to see beyond short term. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to embrace and actively support Division priorities over own product team goals when necessary. Process oriented with demonstrated attention to details. Teamwork oriented with collaborative style. Ability to successfully create clear actionable objectives and facilitate career planning for team members.Education: BachelorsJob Level: Manager
