Serving the top 10 global medical device manufacturers, Avail develops and manufactures more products than any other outsourcing company in the medical industry.DescriptionThe Materials Scientist is responsible for development programs materials selection rationales and developing biocompatibility strategies.  The individual will provide material selection rational for programs where Avail is responsible for materials selection, research, analyze and evaluate materials and their related fabrication.  Identify processes and materials for use in engineering applications, and research, analyze, and evaluate new low cost material replacements for Avail's ongoing manufacturing.  Knowledgeable with engineering design documentation systems, be able to write concise and thorough plans and reports, material strategies and maintain a lab notebook.  Develop biocompatibility strategies for new development programs and manage biocompatibility process.  Develop and maintain materials database. Required SkillsKnowledge of Quality Systems Regulations, Design Controls, GxP, Program Management skills, organizational skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.Required ExperienceMasters degree or Ph.D in material science, polymer science or chemical engineering with 3 years experience in material sciences.Avail devotes significant effort and resources to effect and maintain a corporate culture that promotes authentic leadership that starts within each employee.
