Oracle/Unix System Administrator I


Primary responsibilities are to manage and control the Smiths Medical Global ERP system and all related hardware (SAN, support instances, etc.), configure and set up system/server equipment, create and maintain documentation, install software products, help end-users with system/server related problems (both hardware and software), grant access to certain applications and functions within Oracle applications and manage Unix and database backups. The successful candidate will also back up the infrastructure team in supporting all Microsoft Windows servers and other systems and perform other duties as directed by the Systems Administration Manager or IT Operations Director.

Requirements include a related 2-year degree or higher, up to 5 years' experience performing a Systems Administration function and working with primarily Unix and Oracle Applications, including hardware repair and installation, software installation, trouble shooting problems, project management and systems documentation. Working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies and the ability to execute and monitor Oracle and Unix scripts and to work as part of an extended team and under pressure required. Applicable certifications (A+, HP CSA, etc.) desirable.
