(MRINetwork) is the world's largest executive search and recruitment organization with a global network of more than 1,100 offices and 4,500 recruiting professionals.  Founded in 1966 and consisting of five offices across New England, The Boston Group is MRI’s oldest, largest, and most highly acclaimed member. Company Information: The Client is a global producer of cardiovascular therapeutic devices and related products.  They are also a top maker of cardiac pacing devices (pacemakers and implanted defibrillators).  In addition, they supply cardiac and peripheral vascular repair surgical systems, including less-invasive devices that reduce pain and speed recovery time.  Primary markets include the US, Europe and Japan.  Following a  brief period of internal consolidation, the Client has identified the need for key new employees in the Engineering Department.  One of these positions is an PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER who will develop software systems, applications, firmware, software systems testing and validation.. Job Description:The PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will: Design, define, and implement software system requirements, specifications, input/output processes and working parameters Analyze, design, program, debug and modify real-time applications; firmware applications; software and computer programs for commercial or end user applications Document software development and test development requirements in documents, reports, memos, and change requests Monitor software development by creating and maintaining records in the management system Analyze/solve engineering problems and recommend corrective and preventive action or alternative approaches Analyze and coordinate system partitioning and total system integration Direct support personnel and project activities Continuously improve process and work methodologies Analyze and coordinate software verification and validation Research new software and hardware technologies Conduct special studies for the improvement of systems engineering practices, improving system quality, subsystem partitioningJob Requirements:The PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER will have: MS/BS in CS, CE or EE 10+ years software development experience 10+ years C/C++ with strong software implementation skills OO/UML design experience  XML experience Knowledge of real-time concepts and real-time/embedded development experience Experience with VxWorks real-time operating system Experience with real-time scheduling theory Basic EE knowledge such as microprocessor busses, basic digital electronic circuits, oscilloscopes Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast paced environment Strong oral and written communication skills Customer focus, and teamwork Experience in managing teams of 4-6 engineersKey words are:  MS/BS/CS/CE/EE, software development, C/C++, OO/UML/XML, VxWorks RTOS, embedded Qualified candidates please submit your resume and salary requirements as an MS Word attachment to  jkroehler@mri-boston.com ..  Due to the large volume of resumes received, only candidates meeting requirements will be contacted.
