Description
I am an Executive Recruiter on contract with the world's largest, integrated provider of products and services for individuals with chronic kidney failure, a condition that affects more than 1,300,000 individuals worldwide.
Description
The Disposable Product Manager is the manager responsible for all of the products within the Product Center. Under their direction, marketing plans are developed and implemented. The Product Manager is responsible for every aspect of the products included in the Product Center, including the profits or losses of this business.
You will be focusing on the following key areas:
Financial
Recommend an annual financial budget for the Product Center. This should be summarized in the form of a profit and loss statement, and upon approval, becomes the Product Manager's responsibility to ensure its achievement.
Accurately project and attain targeted sales levels. It is the Product Manager's responsibility to provide latest estimates as to how the Product Center is doing against targeted sales levels.
Maintain or improve the profitability of the Product Center. Of primary importance is the gross margin income which must be constantly monitored and explanations provided for any variances.
Field Sales
The Senior Product Manager must work closely with the Field Sales organization to ensure that the merchandising programs developed for the Product Center are properly implemented and effective in generating the targeted sales volume.
Through frequent work in/with the field, the Senior Product Manager observes market trends, measures the effectiveness of competitive product and promotional activities, and obtains new ideas for either new products or new merchandising programs.
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for handling product related activities of the Field Sales organization. These include handling product backorders, special pricing requests, product complaints or administering special merchandising programs.
Work closely with the Training department and field sales management to train new sales managers on the features and benefits of the product line.
Manufacturing
The Senior Product Manager has the responsibility to provide the manufacturing planning organization with accurate unit forecasts. These forecasts should reflect the actual units which will be sold.
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for working with the manufacturing planning organization to ensure that adequate capacity exists to produce the required units. Where capacity is tight, the Product Manager must take the leadership in informing upper management of the problem and working with manufacturing management to report the associated capital cost to the business of expanding capacity.
Develop an understanding of the manufacturing process for the entire product line. Contacts with key manufacturing personnel, such as the Plant Manager, Planning Managers Production Managers, Industrial Engineers and Quality Assurance Managers, must be developed so that the Senior Product Manager is at all times aware of any production difficulties or opportunities for his/her product line.
The Product Manager must work closely with the Central Inventory Control group to ensure that appropriate inventory levels are maintained at all distribution centers.
Research & Development:
The Senior Product Manager, working with both his/her supervisor and the appropriate R&D section head, should develop a project list for the product center. This list should include new product development, technological improvements and cost savings projects.
Requirements
BA or BS is required.
MBA and/or clinical background are helpful.
2 to 3 years clinical experience in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis is desired.
2 to 3 years experience in Healthcare Marketing/Product Management is desired.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word desired.
Analytical ability, leadership skills, people skills, creativity and business judgement

Compensation Plan: Base of $90K-$100K w/Bonus of 10%.
