Product Manager (Sports Medicine)

This multi-business medical device company that develops products based on its pioneering Coblation(R) technology is seeking to hire a Product Manager for Sports Medicine. Current applications include: Arthroscopic Surgery, Spine Surgery, Dermatologic Surgery, Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery (ENT), and General Surgery.

The Product Manager is responsible for developing promotional materials, products, and programs that will help ArthroCare meet the sales objectives for each product line. The Product Manager should use communications with customers and the sales force to reinforce a Company commitment and focus on customer satisfaction. The Product Manager should work closely with the field sales representatives to support and enhance current products. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (Other duties may be assigned)

  Utilize knowledge gained from experiences and input from the Sports Medicine community to develop sales programs and support materials to increase the sales and usage of our current products.  Provide timely and effective communications to the sales force, which will increase their knowledge and selling effectiveness. Use data and knowledge of market to effectively respond to market changes including compilation of competitive information and tracking of current products.  Provide timely information concerning sales trends, sales data, and performance to budget.  Provide timely marketing input and assist in the R&D efforts.  Provide training for the sales force.  Act as the main in-house contact to provide technical information and support for the sales force and other departments within the company. Work with the Director of Marketing to develop marketing plans and strategic objectives. Implementation of marketing and sales strategic plans. Develop marketing programs that add value to our products and improve customer satisfaction and increase sales. Use strong communication and analytical skills to provide sales trends and forecasts.  Work with vendors to insure that materials are produced on time and within budget.  Manage the current product lines including communication and direction to the other functions supporting the product line.  Initiate the approval process to update and maintain current products and support materials.   Interface with R&D to develop line extensions and product improvements. Will be responsible for providing marketing input for product enhancements and line extensions.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 BA or BS degree (MBA preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. All Microsoft office applications, office equipment Familiarity with sterile technique, and experience in operating rooms and the Sports Medicine market is preferred. Requires 2 to 3 years of medical device sales and marketing experience. Must have a good understanding of the medical environment to effectively respond to market concerns and provide technical support for products. Must work well with outside vendors and design companies to produce written materials, and also with inside personnel across all departments in order to successfully manage the product line. An in-depth understanding of how the products are used and factors that can influence the buying decision are essential. The ability to make decisions concerning the format and design of products and product support materials is required.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of the job. Travel required once a month minimum.
