Program Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for maintaining one of Medtronic CRDM’s mission-critical application and transforming it into a state-of-the-art application.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Responsible for the patient database management System Architecture and Roadmap

  Translates customer needs into high-level engineering requirements and leads the definition of functional System 

  Requirements.  Additionally, leads the definition of non-functional system requirements such as reliability, performance,

  supportability, availability and services levels.

·  Responsible for end-to-end system validation activities prior to application release.

·  Owns the interface specifications of the patient database management application with the other elements of the CRDM system

·  In partnership with business partners, formulates and executes the strategy to continuously improve the application’s architecture for the future without disruption to existing customers and patients.

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

· Experience developing and implementing an enterprise-level hosting strategy to manage the applications data center

· Experience leading initiatives to evaluate sourcing alternatives

· Technical expertise in advancing data management, content management, service – oriented architecture

· Experience delivering portal applications (i.e. customer facing, internal)

· Experience developing and releasing software applications

· Experience building high-performance work teams; leading to achieve project objectives

· Strong project management skills

· Experience managing complex budgets

· Previous experience developing highly advanced new applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company

· Experience in strategic business planning

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED

· Bachelor’s degree

· MA/MBA  degree preferred

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

· 10+ years of experience in a large complex matrixed IT environment

 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

· Experience leading large development and system integration projects

· Knowledge of global service management capabilities

· Experience with infrastructure development service levels, ITIL, sourcing strategies, global service delivery

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience working with Microsoft technologies and development environments.

· Deep knowledge of implantable medical devices and systems

· Knowledge of Healthcare IT

· Strong influence management skills

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

·  10% travel required

·  Ability to freely move throughout the facility, use a keyboard and mouse, visually able to interact with personal 

computers

·  Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours a day

· Travel by auto to and from work locations and other Medtronic facilities required.

· Dexterity required
