We have an immediate opportunity in our Pittsburgh, PA territory for:Project Software EngineerResponsibilities: Responsible for conceptual design of real time embedded software for use within medical devices.Work with hardware engineers to jointly develop robust designs for reliability as well as safety.Provide project leadership to both Technical and Non-Technical team members and serve as an internal expert as it regards to Respironics Motor Control Strategies.Work individually and/or with a team of skilled Software Engineers using a structured development process.Consistent and aggressive commitment to the successful application of knowledge, skills, principles and practices that produce quality work and satisfied customers.Look for ways to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's systems, processes and tools.Serve a lead position within the Respironics Core Technology Engineering Team.Help develop strategies for use within the company to maintain its number one position in the market. Requirements: BS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computers Science, BS Software Engineering or equivalent. MS/PhD engineering/science preferred.Preferred 10 years applicable experience with an undergraduate degree or 8 yrs experience and an MS/PhD degree.Requires experience with embedded software development and in-depth understanding of low level interfacing, system testing and debugging.Primarily proficient in C language programming.Strong working knowledge of structured design, embedded real-time systems and hardware/software interfacing required.Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under independent initiative.Demonstrated project leadership experience.At Respironics Inc., our products improve the lives of patients with a variety of respiratory needs in the hospital, homecare, critical care and neonatal environments.
