Opportunity Snapshot:
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a market leading group with an unmatched history of world changing medical innovation dating back over 40 years. In the 1960s Edwards’ Critical Care team worked with cardiologists Jeremy Swan and William Ganz to develop the first homodynamic monitoring system for critically ill patients. The Swan-Ganzproducts became highly successful and still maintain worldwide leadership position. 


This is an exciting position within a newly formed team to explore next generation hemodynamic monitoring devices and build upon Edwards’ 50 year track record of medical device innovation. This role will be a high level technical individual contributor focused on software development for Patient Monitoring products from concept to market.

Responsibilities include: Create and validate prototype and embedded software. Create software requirements and documents, evaluate software designs and verifications. Must have experience in instrumentation software and regulations for medical devices. Review, analyze, design, program, modify, develop, and implement software programs for use in medical device instruments. Write code and complete programming and testing of engineering prototypes, instruments, and other applications used in the engineering and manufacturing of medical devices. Convert project specifications and procedures to detailed software and GUI specifications for coding and other applications used in the design and manufacturing of medical devices. Work with customers and marketing to develop new or custom features for medical device instruments and explore the possibility of managing external vendors Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.

 

Our Requirements: A minimum of five to seven years experience is required to be considered for this position. Experience coding in C/ C++ is required. Experience in validation and quality systems (ISO 9000), statistical tools (DOE; SPC) desired. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or related scientific field required (eg. Computer Science). A master's degree in Engineering or related scientific field may offset years of required experience. Must be motivated about company and quality function, eager to learn possess high energy and good teamwork skills, be proactive and creative in achieving goals, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess effective project management skills, be detail-oriented, and have excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of applied statistics preferred. Must be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to achieve results with minimal direction. Requires a high-energy individual who has excellent teamwork, partnering, and negotiation skills. Must be proactive and creative in achieving goals.
