SUMMARY
Support sales force as clinical experts, providing clinical and educational tools and programs to assure successful understanding and application of ResMed products. Assist the sales force in the development and expansion of new and existing accounts through inservices and training programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for working closely with the sales force as a clinical specialist to support new and existing customers by providing education and product training in the area of sleep-disordered breathing.
Responsible for working with each sales rep group within your assigned territory at least once per quarter to assure clinical support is available to all reps and customers in your assigned geographic area. Utilize time with rep to identify new revenue generating ideas and strategies for increased company sales.
Responsible for product and clinical application presentations to customers and physicians to increase customer's knowledge base on ResMed products and latest information on SDB.
Must have ability to perform product demonstration on all products without assistance of a sales representative.
Responsible for promoting Clinical Education's Continuing Education courses to professionals in the field of respiratory therapy, nursing, and case management to enhance their understanding of SDB, therapeutic modalities and positioning of appropriate ResMed product.
Is required to be proactive in identifying and addressing market needs and customer requirements in alliance with the sales force.
Required to stay up-to-date on reimbursement issues/guidelines and clinical practices in the homecare, hospital and sleep lab settings. Observation in the sleep lab 2 nights per quarter required to improve knowledge base of CPAP and Bilevel titration practices and protocols, identify potential new business.
Provides feedback to the Director, RCS group and VP Clinical Education regarding customer feedback and recommendations for program changes. Provides input and assistance, when assigned, on program development.
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge base on all ResMed products, competitive product lines and activities within the SDB arena through self-study, company training sessions, and monthly Foundations Test (required monthly score of > 95%).
Must be an available resource for customers in region regarding clinical and reimbursement guidelines as well as clinical application of all products.
Must demonstrate effective management skills and flexibility in order to coordinate travel, scheduling of appointments and presentations base on the needs of the sales force and management staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a Health-related field of Respiratory Therapy or Nursing. Minimum of five (5) years experience encompassing homecare and hospital experience, with sleep laboratory experience a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Licensed or Registered Nurse (LVN, LPN, RN), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). Current license or appropriate registration required.
