Research and Development ( R & D ) Manager, Scientist

Fast Growing Medical Device Manufacturing Company seeks talented, detail-oriented Research Scientist.

 

Position:

Work with a staff of chemists each with different projects.  Interact with production, QA/QC, regulatory affairs, and marketing/sales departments to develop the best products possible.  Ability to coordinate and manage projects to a timely resolution.  Ability to write scientific papers, presentations, patents, manuscripts and reports.  Opportunity to present reports at various prestigious, national meetings. Excellent advancement possibility.

 

Research Concentration:

Investigate the various components of immunoassays for the development of improved tests.  Evaluate the various factors that contribute to test cross-reactivity.  Use of fluorescence, luminescence and magnetism to improve test sensitivity.  Study on the use of different human specimens including saliva, hair and sweat as test matrix.  Development of specific antibody.  Investigate the use of instant test on infectious diseases, cancer screening and hormonal determination.

 

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry or immunology with strong chemistry background REQUIRED.  Experience in assay development of medical diagnostic testing preferred.  Must be constantly current with developments in immunoassay through literature and research. Ability to coordinate research activities with outside companies. Solid leadership skills, self-motivated, creative and team-oriented.Must have excellent communication skills - oral and written. Willing to teach junior personnel.
