SENIOR BUYER / MATERIAL PROGRAM MANAGER

• Work directly with the customer in regards to project schedules, delivery requirements, delivery tracking, production issues, forecasts, team meetings, action items, engineering change notices, and any other issues related to the project.
• Manage the purchasing, planning, and inventory control of all project materials for a specified customer program. Coordinate all activities related to procurement and planning of program requirements beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
• Negotiate the lowest possible cost for material balanced against the optimum quality and schedule requirements.
• Ensure that materials are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and that the required quality standards are met.
• Manage the data entry in the MRP system, which includes: bill of materials, sales orders, supplier information, item information, lead-times, customer information, purchase orders, and forecast information.
• Prepare documentation for quotations, solicit supplier quotations, analyze supplier quotations, prepare customer quote packages, review customer quote packages, and submit quote packages to the customer.
• Manage customer NRE (Non-recurring Engineering) through Track-It.
• Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
• Manage customer drawings, specifications, and special instructions within the Delphi Medical Systems quality control system .
• Facilitate communications within Delphi Medical Systems in relation to the customer projects as appropriate to fulfill production requirements.
• Interact with Delphi Medical Systems management, scheduling, engineering, production, quality control, accounting, inventory management, and shipping to support customer requirements and to solve problems should they arise.
• Manage inventory turns and purchased price variance (PPV) on a consistent basis. Continuously strive towards goals established on a quarterly basis by Delphi Medical Systems management.
• Participate in all NPR (new product reviews) as required.
• Participate in all customer communication meetings as required.
• Participates positively in Delphi Medical Systems community and personnel development.
• Various levels in this position delineate thoroughness of execution of the above responsibilities, including capability with complex assembly, difficult projects, regulatory requirements, and resulting customer satisfaction. Advanced degrees also contribute to the higher levels.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University and/or four years related experience and/or training.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret MRP data. Ability to read, analyze, create, and interpret bill of materials. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specification sheets.
Ability to quote on new items, negotiate costs, interpret and negotiate contract terms, annual price reductions, expedited deliveries, transportation, and any other related issues with suppliers.
Must have demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, advanced spreadsheets, Internet software, Microsoft Outlook, e-mail, MRP II software which includes (sales order processing, MRP, BOM, inventory management, production control, & purchase order management tools), contract management knowledge, and project management tools.
Must keep current at all time on NAPM purchasing practices, APICS guidelines, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in relation to materials management. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, peers, and the general public.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commission, proportion, and percentage
