My client is looking to fill a Senior Account Manager role for the NE Region. The company is an internationally operating biotechnology company with headquarters located in Germany and a location in the USA. My client develops and markets non-viral gene transfer systems for basic as well as medical research. "The company is an industry leader and has an even stronger market presence because of the launch of a new system." JOB DESCRIPTION The Senior Account Manager manages current business and identifies new opportunities within his/her territory. Implements sales programs with the goal of meeting or exceeding goals. Responsible for direct sales of the company’s products and/or services, including devices, reagents and new products within the specific geographic territory. Primary focus on academic, government and industrial customers. The territory includes Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Duties will be: Develop and maintain relationships with academic, government and industrial customers and new accounts; implements sales strategies with the goal of achieving or exceeding forecast Visit customer sites within specified territory on a daily basis; create customer quotes as needed Prepare and submit accurate forecasts of sales activity; submit weekly updated forecast and other reports as requested Present sales and technical information effectively and persuasively across various communication settings Travel with technical staff with the purpose of arranging seminars, providing product demonstrations and managing customer issues Perform various administrative duties, including: maintaining Navision database for sales territory, submitting monthly sales report and providing status update to management on an as needed basis Adhere to company policies including, expense guidelines and other policies as stated in the employee handbook or through direct communication from management Attend commercial meetings and exhibits; attend at least three sales meetings/year Participate as part of global account teamQUALIFICATIONS BS in Life Sciences or a related area and a minimum of 4 years of sales experience in medical devices, equipment, or services, and/or laboratory products; or equivalent. Must have proven record of success in academic or government sales in the life sciences research market. Solid working knowledge of their accounts; possess a current list of internal customer contacts; has a current understanding of the organizational structure of their accounts Be able to provide product demonstrations in customer’s facilities; discuss their research and deliver a technical presentation suited to the interests and needs of the customers. Must have technical proficiency in scientific area specifically cell and molecular biology Strong communication including prospecting, negotiating, listening and closing.
