Senior Cisco Engineer

NWN, a Cisco and Microsoft Gold Partner, has an immediate need for a senior Cisco LAN/WAN engineer for one of our clients in NY, NY - (Blocks away from Time Square)

Requirements and Responsibilities:
Advanced hands-on experience with the ability to configure and troubleshoot VoIP services Routers, Switches, and content networks.
Proven design and analysis experience with VoIP, TCP/IP and Wireless networks desired.
Strong working knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.

Strong working knowledge of 802.11 standards and security
Experience with network security including remote access, VPN and firewall security
Troubleshooting experience and methodology for data networks
Strong working knowledge of Internet-related protocols and standards such as VoIP protocols, SIP, TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, RTSP, MPLS, RSVP
Experience monitoring data networks relating to performance, quality of service, response time, and throughput.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which facilitate interfacing, coordinating, and working with the cross functional teams of: development, customer support, and marketing;
Solid writing skills for documenting plans, evaluations and tests, and operational procedures
Cisco Networking Certifications a plus

Perform capacity planning and capacity management to prevent any negative impacts.
Support change management processes.
Vendor management.

This is a six month contract to permanent opportunity.
