Senior Design Engineer

Microline PENTAX, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures and markets worldwide a broad range of minimally invasive reposable instruments for surgery. Our product portfolio comprises cutting, dissecting, grasping, cauterizing and ligating instruments used in all laparoscopic surgical specialities including general surgery, Ob-Gyn, urology and bariatric surgical procedures.  All products are FDA cleared and CE marked.

The qualified individual will perform, in a leadership role, a wide variety of duties relating to new product design.  Responsibilities include all facets of product development from assistance in the initial design concept through design verification to component manufacturing through production start-up.  Design complex mechanisms, manufacturable components, production tools and fixtures.  Develop solutions to exclude and eliminate problems relating to product design, materials, processes and tooling.  Contribute to overall product development process to ensure that new and existing products, processes and methods are reliable, capable, robust and cost effective.

The qualified individual will possess a BSME, MS/MBA degree in a scientific/technical discipline or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in the medical device industry. Must have demonstrated knowledge of regulations and standards effecting medical product development.  Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with medical professionals.  Demonstrated teamwork, creativity, integrity and leadership are required along with complex problem solving skills.
