The Senior Financial Planning Analyst collaborates with a wide variety of company personnel to budget, forecast and analyze financial results aimed at helping to optimize the financial performance of the company, supporting the Field Sales Organization.  This position supports company decision-makers with fact-based analysis covering a wide variety of topics that have a significant impact on the health and growth of AMS.  In addition, this position drives changes and improvements to business processes, which directly and indirectly improve the financial analysis and resulting performance of the business. 

 

 

Budgeting

·         Drive the worldwide budgeting process for assigned areas of the business, assuring quality and integrity of data. *

·         Collaborate with AMS personnel with budget responsibility to ensure the understanding of process and outcome.

·         Coordinate with various finance and business staff regarding the budget. *

·         Benchmark business Metrics to Industry.

·         Ensure all major expenses for assigned operating areas are budgeted.

·         Collaborate on the development of final budget book and presentation materials that meet both Management and Board of Directors needs. *

 

Financial Analysis/Process Improvement

·         Anticipate Senior Management needs and provide appropriate tools needed to effectively make significant strategic and financial decisions in support of corporate business objectives.

·         Support accounting close by performing variance analysis of assigned operating organizations. *

·         Work closely with general accounting staff to ensure accuracy in financial reporting at the detailed account vs. budget level.

·         Advise management of financial processes to ensure proper controls exist.

·         Critically evaluate processes, implementing new/revised processes and procedures to help improve the organization.

Review financial results and interpret them in a meaningful way for management

EDUCATION

·         Bachelor’s degree (MBA and CPA highly desired)

 

EXPERIENCE

·         7-10 plus years experience in financial budgeting, forecasting, accounting and financial analysis

·         Experience with Cognos and JDEdwards preferred.

·         General knowledge and experience with global accounting and business

 

SKILLS

·         Superior written and oral communication skills

·         Knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting

·         Strong understanding of financial systems (previous JD Edwards and Cognos experience preferred)

·         Strong knowledge and experience with international accounting and business

·         Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization

·         Creative problem solving skills coupled with good judgment
