Senior Medical Imaging Scientist

Eigen located in California is seeking a full time medical imaging Sr. Scientist - a candidate who is self motivated and a very good team player and has ability to work in research and product development environments in industry while in collaborations with University Hospitals or Clinical environments.

Education Requirements/Experience: “PhD in EE or CS or Biomedical Engineering with 2-3 years of industry experience in Medical Imaging Software Design and Development”. Post doctoral fellows with 1-2 years of experience can also apply as long as they are legally allowed to work in USA.


Background Experience in Computer Vision: Experience in Pattern Recognition, Classification strategies such as Bayes, Fuzzy, Training-based; Statistical Imaging Techniques, Segmentation Boundary or Surface Based, Registration (Rigid or Non-rigid), Validation strategies (phantom-based or modeling based); Navigation (Magnetic or optical or mechanical), Real-Time Tracking, Good background in computer graphics. Experience in GPU processing is a plus too. Experience with various medical image modalities such as ultrasound, CT and MRI desired.

Computer Skills: Strong knowledge about Object Oriented Programming, Visual C++, C++, COM, Active X, Visualization Guru on PC, strong MFC fundamentals, Linux, ITK/VTK, GUI/QT Development, threading, concurrent processing, image and surface rendering using DirectX. Experience with DICOM a must; Ability to write images in DICOM, read images in DICOM; read/write image volumes and other information in DICOM; familiar with XML, .net, C#; GPU programming a plus.
